Happy National Week of Deaf People!
Exciting news! The Deaf Community Markets are coming back on Sunday, 1 November 2026. Are you coming?
Stallholder Expressions of Interest are currently open until 1 October 2026, unless all stall spaces are booked before then. We’ve already received lots of EOIs, so don’t miss out!
How do you submit your EOI?
Visit our website for more information, then send your EOI to deafmarkets@waad.org.au.
What will we have on the day?
There’ll be food trucks, coffee, activities for children and adults, and of course, lots of stalls to explore!
Keep an eye on our social media for updates and announcements about the stallholders, food trucks and activities joining us at the Deaf Community Markets this year.
When: Sunday, 1 November 2026
Where: Shenton College, 227 Stubbs Terrace, Shenton Park, WA
It’s within walking distance of Shenton Park Train Station.
Time: 10am–3pm
Cost: Free entry! Come along, socialise and enjoy the day.
Bring: Cash and your card or phone to purchase items from stallholders and food and drinks throughout the day.
Who can come?
Everyone is welcome — Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people!
This is a day for everyone to come together, connect with the Deaf community, celebrate Auslan and Deaf culture, and support our stallholders and the wider Deaf Ecosystem.

Great News! The Deaf Community Markets Committee has secured our location for 2026!
We want to create a space for the Deaf community to come together, connect, catch up and support the Deaf Ecosystem.

You never quite know what you will find at Christy's Crafts and thats part of the fun!
Christy creates an exciting mix of handmade pieces, from cross stitch and leatherwork to painting, minatures, macarame, knitting and clay plus whatever creative project has caught her attention lately! With so many different crafts and one-of-a-kind creations to browse, make sure you stop by and see what Christy has been making!
Deafinite Connection
They will be promoting their theatre production, "Beyond Sound and Sight: Perspective of Deaf and Deaf Blind" - a moving theatre work exploring Deaf and Deafblind experience. Combining storytelling and signed song, the show shares the highs and lows of growing up Deaf in a hearing world.
Stop by their stall to learn about the production, explore their business and purchase a Deafinite Connection product!
Tara Kozuh
Tara Kozuh, author of Dakota the CODA is coming to the markets!
Dakota the CODA follows a young girl living in two worlds, the hearing world and the Deaf world. As Dakota learns to navigate both, she discovers that being a CODA, a Child of Deaf Adults is something special. She doesnt have to choose just one world because both are part of who she is. Through Dakota's story, Tara celebrates family, language and belonging, showing young readers that being different is part of what makes who we are.

SCDEC is looking to reconnect with former students and build a stronger connections within its school community.

Deafingo
Discover Super Deafingo, a childrens book series created by a Deaf author that explores Deaf identity. Visit their stall to explore the Super Deafingo books and merchandise and learn more about Deafingo Services.
National Relay Service
Come and visit their stall to learn more about the National Relay Service (NRS) and the different ways it supports people who are Deaf, hard of hearing and people who require speech communication support to make and receive phone calls.
